Projects

Help Keep our Neighborhood Clean, Safe, and Beautiful

Your BNA is active in the neighborhood and community. Ongoing projects that help keep our neighborhood clean, safe and beautiful include:

Community engagement

BNA recognizes that residents are busy and often don't have time to learn what's going on in the neighborhood or even get to know their neighbors. Your BOIA hosts many community events in an effort to inform neighbors of community and City developments. We also like to have fun! Events include an annual meeting with guest speakers, Baywood Social and membership drive, and a Fall Yard Sale.

Island maintenance

There are five islands in the Baywood neighborhood and your BNA plays a critical role in ensuring those islands are maintained, namely clean, landscaped and irrigated.

Traffic and Parking mitigation

With a bustling downtown - both during business hours and after hours - ample parking has become a hot-button issue for Baywood residents. Your BNA works with the City to regulate and limit parking congestion in our neighborhood.

Development

Several technology companies call downtown San Mateo home. The ripple effect provides the City and the Baywood neighborhood both opportunities and challenges. Your BNA works diligently with the City to ensure development is aligned as best as possible with residents' wants, needs, and aspirations.

Pedestrian safety

Safety for our neighborhood residents, whether children, adults or seniors is a top priority. Busy schedules, narrow streets and distracted drivers all present a risk for our residents. Your BNA works closely with the City to ensure our streets are safe for our residents.

Crime prevention

The Baywood neighborhood is a wonderful place to live and part of the attraction is the safety we enjoy. Your BNA is active in promoting safety awareness and crime prevention campaigns like National Night Out and Neighborhood Watch and is active with the San Mateo Police Department to ensure the safety we enjoy continues.
